He joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1984 and held various diplomatic assignments at the Pakistan Missions aboard: London (1988-1991), Athens (1993-1996), Dushanbe (1996-1997) and Jakarta (1998-1999). He also worked with the United Nations as Political Affairs Officer from 1999-2004. During various stints in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad he also worked as Director and Section Officer in the United Nations, Europe and Economic Coordination Divisions.
On number of occasions, Mr. Nadeem headed United Nations’ Transitional Administration in East Timor’s Liaison Office in Jakarta from 2000-2004. He has represented Pakistan and led delegations on several occasions on bilateral and multilateral fora including Developing-8 Countries’ Commissioners’ meetings in Tehran in 2004 and 2005.
Mr. Nadeem holds master degrees in International Relations.
He is married and has two sons.
