Onsite Attestation of Documents

We offer attestation service for various types of documents. We accept documents from 0930 am to 1230pm CST (Monday to Friday except holidays -For holidays or any changes in timings please visit the home page). However, one has the option to apply for Power of Attorney only online as the link given here

Standard Requirements

Kindly note the following standard requirements for all types of documents:

  • Original document with copy of the document.
  • Original valid Pakistani passport or CNIC/NICOP along with photocopy.
  • Two passport size photographs.
  • Proof of Residence in Pakistan Consulate Houston’s area of jurisdiction e.g. copy of state ID card or Driving License (we cover States of Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Florida New Mexico, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Louisiana & Texas).
  • A self-addressed, pre-paid return envelope (of USPS, Fedex or UPS) with tracking number {in case the applicant desires the return of the attested document via post}.
  • Fees payable in the form of Debit/Credit card to the Consulate General of Pakistan, Houston. For amount of the attestation fees of various types of documents, please see the chart below:

Requirements Power of Attorney, Pension paper/ Life Certificate/ Will

Kindly note that the personal presence of the applicant/executants is mandatory before the consular officer for attestation of signature/document for General Power of Attorney/Affidavit/Pension papers/Life Certificate/Will.

Other requirements are as follows:-

  • Please bring a clear typed, in original, document to be attested. Power of Attorney can be typed on a white paper on your own
  • Valid (original & copy) of Pakistani ID (Passport/CNIC/NICOP) for identity purpose.
  • Proof of residence i.e., Driving License/State ID or other Government-issued valid document bearing your photo and current address.
  • Fees for attestation of document is accepted in the form of Debit/Credit card (payable to Pakistan Consulate General Houston). (No cash, or personal checks are accepted.)
  • Kindly bring two recent photographs; one affixed on the document and another for record copy.
  • We do not require you to bring witnesses to the Consulate. However, if you so require, please get signatures from witnesses before visiting this Consulate.

Other Attestations Requirements

A. Pakistani Issued Documents

  • For attestation of Pakistani documents like Birth, Nikah Nama (or marriage) and Academic Certificates etc. prior authentication of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad is mandatory.
  • For attestation of photocopies of Pakistani Passports and Computerized Identity Cards, presentation of original documents is mandatory. These documents can be submitted to us in person or via postal mail because personal presence of applicant is not necessary for attestation of this type of document.

B. US issued Documents

  • For Attestation of all documents issued in USA, such as Death, Birth, Marriage certificate, court decree or any other document, prior authentication of US Department of State, Washington D.C. is mandatory.
  • Department of State attestation needs prior authentication from the respective State Secretary the state where the document was issued/notarized.
  • For this Consulate signature of State Secretaries must be countersigned/ authenticated by the US (federal) Department of State of Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Florida New Mexico, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Louisiana & Texas).
